Welcome Back to School
From the PTO
We are very excited to start what promises to be a great year for your children. Your PTO Board had met to plan many activities for the year. This year, our fundraising efforts will reduce your tuition.
Because SHS parents AMAZINGLY supported our fundraisers last year, we were able to send many of the classes on all expense paid educational field trips to the UNC Planetarium, Kings Dominion, Natural Bridge, and Amazement Square. As funds allow, we will continue to add value and FUN to the student life here at SHS.
We look forward to serving you over the next year. If you have any PTO concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Also, I am looking for any ideas BIG or small that you’d like to see the PTO involved in.

A Parent's Prayer
Heavenly
Father,
Make me a better parent
Teach me to understand my children,
To listen patiently to what they have to say,
And to answer all their questions kindly.
Keep me from interrupting them,
or contradicting them.
Make me as courteous to them
as I would have them be to me.
Forbid that I should ever laugh at their mistakes,
Or resort to shame or ridicule if they displease me.
Bless me with the bigness to
grant them
all their reasonable requests,
And the courage to deny them privileges
that I know will do them harm.
Make me fair and just and kind.
And fit me, O Lord,
to be loved and respected
and imitated by my children.
