Co-Chairpersons of the Athletic Banquet, Kitty Knaus and Chris O’Boyle, would like to thank everyone who contributed to a successful evening including:  all of the coaches for contacting their players to ensure good attendance at the dinner, Mary Jane Coble for receiving the registrations, Coach Buchanan for making the programs and being our Master of Ceremonies, Fr. Charles and Diane Neal for working the front door, Lisa Argyrakis for assisting with food set-up, our alumni food servers Leigh Knaus and Dulce Serna, Joe and Mimma’s restaurant for a delicious dinner, our photographers Monica Casker and Tony Adcock, Mrs. Church for the continuous slide show, Coach K. for ordering the trophies, our guest speakers Nicholas O’Boyle, Brenda Smith, and Diane Jones, Dana Petrovich for framing the student athletes’ picture, and the awesome clean-up duo of Mrs. Meadows and Miss Crowder.  This was truly a team effort!

 

ATTENTION ALL RISING 7TH, 8TH, AND 9TH GRADE GIRLS:  Coaches Knaus and O’Boyle are planning next year’s volleyball season.  Please indicate on the Guaranteed Delivery Slip if you are interested in trying-out for the team so you can be contacted during the summer with information.  Call Coach O’Boyle with questions at 793-6009/334-2458.

Congratulations to members of the 2009-2010 SHS Raider Cheerleading Squad:  Nichelle Foisy (captain), Addie Leigh Milam (co-captain), Sarah Adcock (assistant co-captain), Rosie Anderson, Annie Barnett, Ashley Butler, Emily Comper, Jenna Knaus, Mary Kate Milam, Rebecca Rodden, and Marissa Yeaman.

 

Galileo Theatre Guild's 5th Annual Summer Youth Drama Camp: Students will be participating in daily theatre games as well as vocal and acting workshops. The students will also rehearse and perform in a short play for friends and family on Thursday June 25. We recommend that students be able to read and enjoy performing in front of others.

Lands’ End has announced an exciting scholarship and school fundraising

opportunity exclusively for parents and schools participating in the Lands’ End school uniform program. We are delighted that we are one of the qualified schools eligible to enter and parents, we need your help to win. Lands’ End is hosting the sweepstakes with prizes and funding valued at over $100,000.Starting April 26, 2009, parents of students currently enrolled in our school are eligible to submit an entry in the Lands’ End Partners in Education Scholarship Sweepstakes. Parents simply need to log onto www.landsend.com/scholarship and fill out the online entry for a chance to win. Parents can enter from April 26th thru July 15th, 2009.

During the first week of August, Lands’ End will randomly select five eligible

grand prize winners and award each a $10,000 scholarship to be placed into a pre-established 529 qualified tuition plan account. For every winning family, the corresponding Lands’ End Preferred School will also win $10,000 for funding to be used as needed. Also, an additional 100 families will each win a $100 Lands’ End Gift Card that can be used toward school uniform purchases. “Lands’ End is excited to offer a helping hand to parents and their students’ schools as our education partners are facing increasing educational expenses,” said Nick Coe, Lands’ End President. “We hope all parents will take advantage of this exciting opportunity to enter the Lands’ End Partners in Education Scholarship Sweepstakes to be eligible to win a $10,000 student scholarship and $10,000 for their school fundraising efforts.” Enter today at www.landsend.com/scholarship, Lands’ End will be selecting and awarding $10,000 each to five winning parents and five winning schools in August. End-of Year Info:  Parents are reminded that all tuition and fees (including cafeteria, library, textbook damage, etc.) must be paid before report cards can be issued or requested records are sent.  Please see Mrs. Coble with any questions.

 

 

Please join us!  Our Closing Liturgy for the school year will held on Thursday, June 4, at 10:30.  The liturgy will be followed by our Annual Awards Assembly, also to be held in the church sanctuary.  Students will be dismissed at 12:30!  Plan to pick up your child’s report card on Tuesday, June 9 after 10:00 AM.
