Prepositions
A Preposition is a word that relates a noun or pronoun to another word in a sentence. A preposition must always have an object! "The dog sat under the tree" Under is the preposition and tree is the object. Ask yourself “The dog sat under the what? The dog sat under the tree.” If you said, “The dog sat under.” we would not know under what the dog sat.
